European hub prices will come under further pressure

Mild weather over the coming week will weaken gas demand and put European prices under pressure.

Prices across Europe’s major hubs have been falling over the past week and are expected to continue to drop. The NBP day-ahead had reached a season high at the start of February when it was driven up to 61 p/th by weather-related demand when much of the UK was hit by a cold snap. However, the NBP day-ahead had fallen to around 49 p/th on Tuesday and is forecast to come under further pressure on Wednesday as the market looks set to be oversupplied.
