Pressure increases on European hub prices

Temperatures in much of the UK and elsewhere in Europe are expected to rise after a spate of unseasonably cold weather over the past week. This will reduce demand-side support for prices over the coming week.

The NBP day-ahead was down to 40.6 p/th on Tuesday, marking a drop of roughly 1 p/th over the past week. UK gas demand is forecast to be around seasonal norms on Wednesday, according to the outlook from National Grid. The market is expected to be balanced, meaning support for prices looks likely to diminish.
