The arrival of Abu Dhabi’s first FSRU at Ruwais reflects the UAE’s growing dependence on LNG imports amid rising gas demand

Abu Dhabi received its first FSRU in August as demand for gas grows in the United Arab Emirates. The arrival of the vessel, at the port of Ruwais in the Gulf, also provides an opportunity for Qatari LNG to make further inroads into the UAE’s gas market.
