The United Arab Emirates’ first nuclear power plant moved closer to being commissioned following the signing of an agreement in late June for long-term maintenance with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power. Construction work on the first 1.4 GW reactor at the Barakah plant was completed earlier this year, and the unit is scheduled to be commissioned by early 2020.
