The MEA’s key LNG buyers are set to reduce their reliance on the fuel further in 2019.
There were six LNG-importing countries in the region in 2018: Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Israel. However, Egypt has now stopped importing LNG because of its sharply rising gas production. The country dispensed with one of its two FSRUs in September last year, with the second expected to sail off in Q1 2019.
